It’s been a real pleasure working with Dr. A & his staff. They’re beyond friendly and encouraging. He truly cares about your overall health. I really liked that he cheered me on along the way & that he’d always have positive feedback even when I’d backslide on my weight loss journey. He knew I’d do better the next time & I would work towards not letting him down.
I do admit that sometimes my appointments didn’t start on time, which was inconvenient because sometimes I'd be late to other commitments. However, he was right on cue for surgery & was even there to check up on me post surgery. I appreciate his willingness to work with me to achieve my health goals.
If you’re looking for a surgeon who cares & who has had success, DR. A is your surgeon.

I had the Lap Band since 2010. Now my Lap Band and must be removed and although he is not the doctor who put it in, he is on my current insurance plan. He is thorough but I was told by his nurse that I have to end up back in the emergency room. To me my history of previous emergency room visits should equate to medically necessary removal. Who knows, it is probably my insurance plan. Overall, he is very thorough, polite, and he listened to my long story.

Was referred to Dr. Apakama by my doctor and what an experience.Am already hesitant about surgery but he took his time to discuss all options and literally walked me through it and I felt more confident and looking forward to this because of his kindness and empathy about this process.Can't wait for this chapter with this doctor.
